another interesting point is the necessity to keep the
war/industry/machinery/surrounding servants/servers/services/ in bizness.

Such industry is a huge supporter and quite the most important active member
of the superpowered economy of the USA. The facts that such superpower is
eventually relying on war machinery was inherited from the ww2 when it was
ignited. after so much production for a long wartime effort, another war
followed, cold one. Now a third generation of wartime industrials , after
the vietnam era - which actually marked the initial shifting from uniformed
warriors to talibans "un-insignaed" ones - and which also signaled a change
in the perception of the conquering power lost in the jungle warfare -
developped another strategy: high altitude bombing, discretion , no
photographers shooting wounded or dying good soldiers. reduction of risks
for extremely costly and overequipped soldiers , better give the "locals"
the big chance to enter first in the al quaeeda's booby trapped caves.
A new war in a difficult montainous country, where also the wine and womans
are few. No comparison with Gettysburg or Bastogne.

Secretary Rumsfeld said the talibans weren't wearing insignae nor uniforms.
I just wonder if Allied night fighters with infrared visors had some visible
insignae to be recognized by night from a distance.
again the superpower of equipment, the sudden kill from nowhere, on the
ground or from the heaven, against definitively poorly equipped fighters.

The Walker despised fighter was found with a weapon at hand in a besieged
fortress. For having said he was trained in some camp, supposed then (until
9-11) NOT a terrorist one,just a plain afghan militarylike base, he's now
accused to commit a act of terrorism against the US or allied troops. more
probably against the afghan northern alliance troops who actually "took" his
warplace.
did someone criticize the fact that all allied troops who attacked the
afghan country, with or without a good reason, were also trained in military
like camps ?
I would review , hope will be published - the declarations and testimonials
during his trial.
Does someone know under which kind of law, national or international, he'll
be judged? at wich level? first a grand jury, and after what?

I would just write here that after seeing the first picts/videos of the
imprisoned Walker he apparently -just apparently - had a aspect probably
very few compatriots would have imagined, and certainly ignored as possible.
(Why do we have so few images available in this so important war?)

Walker choosed to be in that situation.
Is't a good point for him ?
Few can make such definitive changes of lifestyle.
I still reject the idea he's considered a traitor to his original
motherland. Actually he never imagined the faction in which he enrolled
would become the base of the terrorist action against his original homeland.
He wanted some real action, meaby.

12 years ago when he converted to Islam AlQuaeeda/Bin Ladden was not yet
THE public enemy of the USA, on the contrary. If later he was progressively
adopted as a peer by the talibans, he just did the same the marines ask
their rookies to do. He probably would have been killed if trying to change
his mind, And probably was brainwashed if not marijuanated to stay enrolled.
many military supported the same during all warriors history.

and the Bush's family/commercial partners did a similar error when helping
Bin Ladden to gain power. Should they also be conidered as traitors ? Did
they actually also, like Walker, many years before, help a future enemy of
the USA ?
