Quite the other thing, Michael; Kenneth is right;
specifically the dialect of the uneducated deep South poor white. today's
term for it is "bubba-speak" ("bubba" being their common name for each
other, -same as aussies "mate" i think), a dialect associated with an ethos
which is violently racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic,
anti-intellectual, reactionary,...and fundamentalist christian; and, what's
more to the pt, the dialect affected by our New England born and raised
prez. Dubya is scrupulous in his usuage of "gummint" and the rest by way of
coding to that constituency his solidarity in hatred of niggers, queers,
egg-heads, etc. which he were otherwise barred from explicitating. of this
and the like are the irresistable charms of bourgeois democracy.
