It would h*elp if people bothered to remember that Heidegger's
"inquiry into Being" was one conducted in German. The routine
american associations made by manifestly anti-continental thinkers
such as Harrawood (reflecting a frightening trend to discard the
advances within continental thought, in order to reinvent Heidegger
from the ground up, as so many analysts are now doing) obscure
much more than they enlighten.

None the less, many of the points he raises are good ones. It
is troublesome that they come together with such a moralistic
imperative on his part. It makes it hard to hear.
