CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

"COMPUGRAPHICS '92" is being organized to be a better and larger conference
than the first edition. Evidently devoted again to the maturing field of
"Computational Graphics", the event aims at gathering together all interested
individuals to discuss the current situation, future directions, research
and educational goals. The conference will include invited lectures,
papers, panels, a computer image show and an exhibition. It is co-organized
by the 'Portuguese ACM Chapter'.
You are invited to be involved in all forms of participation, namely by
submitting contributions in the categories below.

* Dec 16 - Wednesday : Excursion through the 'Coast of the Sun'

This tour will take you to discover the 'Coast of the Sun', which includes
the famous summer resorts of Guincho, Cascais and Estoril, the exquisite
and frightening cliffs called "Boca do Inferno" (Hell's Mouth) and "Cabo

quarter of Lisbon "Bairro Alto". Includes a stage show of Portuguese folk

* Dec 19 - Saturday : A 'Romantic' Excursion

A full day "romantic" tour through the best traditional, aristrocatic and
royal places of Portugal. Visits include the sumptuous Queluz Palace, the
town of Sintra, summer residence of the Portuguese royalty, praised by Lord
Byron, its National Palace and the surrounding mountains, and the seaside
resorts of Guincho, Cascais and Estoril. Lunch and entrance fees included.

* Dec 20 - Sunday : Excursion to the Medieval Village of Obidos

The beautiful medieval town of Obidos, with its picturesque streets and the
'Castle Inn', is the central attraction of this full day tour. The village of
Alcobaca, with its 12th century abbey and the tombs of King Pedro I and Ines
de Castro, follows. Lunch is had in Nazare, the most colorful of the
Portuguese fishing villages. The historical landmark 'Monastery of Batalha'
is then visited and finally Fatima, the world renown Catholic Sanctuary,
where services can be attended on occasion. Lunch and entrance fees included.

PROGRAM FOR ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
* Dec 15 - Tuesday : The Arrabida Mountains

A full day tour that takes participants through the Arrabida Mountains,
the villages of Sesimbra and Palmela, and the city of Setubal. Other points
of interest include an ancient monastery and "Casa Fortuna", a handicraft
house. Lunch and entrance fees included. PTE 9000$00 per person.
* Dec 16 - Thursday : Portuguese Glazed Tiles
------------
An afternoon tour which starts at 14:00 and takes participants to see
beautiful examples of the famous Portuguese glazed tiles, that date back to
the Arab domination period. The Madre de Deus Church and its museum are
visited. PTE 5000$00 per person.
* Dec 17 - Friday : Lisbon City Tour
-----------
This is a full day tour of Lisbon, including a stop at the Christ-the King
monument in Almada, from which a beautiful sight of the capital is caught.
The Bridge over Tagus, the Tower of Belem, the Jeronimos Monastery, the
monument to Henry the Navigator and the Saint George's Castle will be visited.
Sightseeing of Lisbon's main streets and time for lunch (at Rossio, main
square downtown) and shopping are also part of the tour, which starts at 9:00.
Lunch and entrance fees included. PTE 10000$00 per person.
Other tours will be announced. Other programs available on request.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
* Reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis, and are
subject to availability. Rates are subject to change. Please indicate
3 hotel choices in order of preference (see form).
* A two-night advance should accompany all reservation requests and must be
received before October 31. Reservations not complying with these
requirements cannot be guaranteed. The remaining nights should be paid in
full at the time of arrival. Reservation changes after confirmation may
not be possible.
* Cancellation terms :
4 weeks before first night : PTE 3000$00 per person will be charged

1 week - - - - - - - - - : no reimbursement.
* 5-star hotels, apartments, or alternate student's accommodation can be
arranged on request.
* Requests for non-smoking rooms, wheelchairs, vegetarian food, extra beds,
children, etc, should be especially communicated but cannot be guaranteed.
* The organization reserves the right to accommodate a participant in a hotel
not listed, once the lodging capacity is filled. The participant will be
properly notified.
* Tours and social events can be paid locally. If the number of
registrants is insufficient, tours and events will be cancelled, with full
reimbursement.

The conference reception will take place at the City Hall, starting at
18:00, with the presence of the mayor of Lisbon, or his representative.
Port wine will be served. Covered by the registration fee, including
transportation.
* Dec 15 - Twesday : A Night at the Casino Estoril

Enjoy the very nice dinner and the international stage show of Casino
Estoril, in Estoril, the famous seaside resort. Gambling rooms, slot machines
and bingo. PTE 11000$00 per person including transportation.
* Dec 16 - Wednesday : Excursion through the 'Coast of the Sun'

This tour will take you to discover the 'Coast of the Sun', which includes
the famous summer resorts of Guincho, Cascais and Estoril, the exquisite
and frightening cliffs called "Boca do Inferno" (Hell's Mouth) and "Cabo
da Roca" (Cape Roca), the most western point of continental Europe. Starts
at 14:30. PTE 5000$00 per person.
* Dec 17 - Thursday : Conference Banquet

The conference banquet will take place in the restaurant of Saint George's
Castle, with music and dancing. Starts at 20:00. Beautiful view of the old
downtown, the Tagus, the suspension bridge and the Christ-the King monument.

* Dec 18 - Friday : Dinner in a 'Fado and Folklore' Restaurant

This special dinner will take place in a restaurant at the old and typical
quarter of Lisbon "Bairro Alto". Includes a stage show of Portuguese folk
dances and the best "fado" singers. Starts at 20:30. Live music and dancing

* Dec 19 - Saturday : A 'Romantic' Excursion

A full day "romantic" tour through the best traditional, aristrocatic and
royal places of Portugal. Visits include the sumptuous Queluz Palace, the
town of Sintra, summer residence of the Portuguese royalty, praised by Lord
Byron, its National Palace and the surrounding mountains, and the seaside
resorts of Guincho, Cascais and Estoril. Lunch and entrance fees included.

* Dec 20 - Sunday : Excursion to the Medieval Village of Obidos

The beautiful medieval town of Obidos, with its picturesque streets and the
'Castle Inn', is the central attraction of this full day tour. The village of
Alcobaca, with its 12th century abbey and the tombs of King Pedro I and Ines
de Castro, follows. Lunch is had in Nazare, the most colorful of the
Portuguese fishing villages. The historical landmark 'Monastery of Batalha'
is then visited and finally Fatima, the world renown Catholic Sanctuary,
where services can be attended on occasion. Lunch and entrance fees included.

PROGRAM FOR ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
* Dec 15 - Tuesday : The Arrabida Mountains

A full day tour that takes participants through the Arrabida Mountains,
the villages of Sesimbra and Palmela, and the city of Setubal. Other points
of interest include an ancient monastery and "Casa Fortuna", a handicraft
house. Lunch and entrance fees included. PTE 9000$00 per person.
* Dec 16 - Thursday : Portuguese Glazed Tiles
------------
An afternoon tour which starts at 14:00 and takes participants to see
beautiful examples of the famous Portuguese glazed tiles, that date back to
the Arab domination period. The Madre de Deus Church and its museum are
visited. PTE 5000$00 per person.
* Dec 17 - Friday : Lisbon City Tour
-----------
This is a full day tour of Lisbon, including a stop at the Christ-the King
monument in Almada, from which a beautiful sight of the capital is caught.
The Bridge over Tagus, the Tower of Belem, the Jeronimos Monastery, the
monument to Henry the Navigator and the Saint George's Castle will be visited.
Sightseeing of Lisbon's main streets and time for lunch (at Rossio, main
square downtown) and shopping are also part of the tour, which starts at 9:00.
Lunch and entrance fees included. PTE 10000$00 per person.
Other tours will be announced. Other programs available on request.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
* Reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis, and are
subject to availability. Rates are subject to change. Please indicate
3 hotel choices in order of preference (see form).
* A two-night advance should accompany all reservation requests and must be
received before October 31. Reservations not complying with these
requirements cannot be guaranteed. The remaining nights should be paid in
full at the time of arrival. Reservation changes after confirmation may
not be possible.
* Cancellation terms :
4 weeks before first night : PTE 3000$00 per person will be charged
2 weeks - - - - - - - - - : 1 night refund
1 week - - - - - - - - - : no reimbursement.
* 5-star hotels, apartments, or alternate student's accommodation can be
arranged on request.
* Requests for non-smoking rooms, wheelchairs, vegetarian food, extra beds,
children, etc, should be especially communicated but cannot be guaranteed.
* The organization reserves the right to accommodate a participant in a hotel
not listed, once the lodging capacity is filled. The participant will be
properly notified.
* Tours and social events can be paid locally. If the number of
registrants is insufficient, tours and events will be cancelled, with full
reimbursement.
