I need help in designing projects for an introductory two
dimensional design course. The class size is about 250,
with approx 50% from Visual Arts and the remainder from
a whole range of disciplines. There is a one hour group
lecture each week plus a three hour studio session, with
20 or so students in each studio group. It is anticipated
that each project shall be of two weeks duration, that is
six hours of studio time plus 12 hours of work outside
class. The following is the course outline:
Two-Dimensional design is a problem and theory orientated
studio course directed to the student who is interested in
examining the basic visual vocabulary/elements, relationships
and principles involved in contemporary design.
This intensive practicum course will be taught on a
multidisciplinary level.
The purpose of this course is to help define an individual,
operational understanding of how the process of design and
design relationships can be interpreted to assist the
individual in their own areas of interest.
