I would agree with Jean that there are lots of great architects form
all sorts of places, but perhpas we should be seeking the most
humblest architect such as those involved in community projects
rather than those who actively seek the limelight and flashy
projects.
Incidentally I think you may find that Calatrava's mentor was Felix
Candela, although inspiration comes also from Nervi. What is
interesting about these cited designers is the fact that they are
both qualified architects and engineers.
