While it is nice to hear that students are optimistic, I would
like to hear more from people who have actually worked in the
industry. The opinions of a student have very little to do
with what the real world of architecture or any other industry
is about. Thanks for posting the messages, I've been printing
them out and giving them to my sister who is interested in
studying architecture.

On a related note, what professions might someone who is very
skilled at realistic drawing and painting go into? What would
those who are disgruntled with the profession suggest someone
go into as an alternative? Drafting? Graphic Art?

I'd like to see some messages from the other side of the fence.
People who are working as an architect, and enjoy it. People
who work reasonable hours, get excellent pay, etc.. What did
you do that made it so different for you than it has been
for the voices of gloom and doom that appear to dominate this
newsgroup?
