How about this one for "design":
DE = of or concerning
SIGNIO = symbols
"Design" = Of or concerning symbols.
How about this one for "designer":
One who is involved with things concerning symbols = Designer.
In other words, there is a semantic issue involved with design,
and many poor (and registered) architects exclude it from the
making of architecture. [I use the term "architect" in the legal
sense, since noone can use it without being registered! Pretty
stupid, is is not?]
