The supposition of "logos" — the Greek for "word", associated in Hellenistic
Jewish thought with divine wisdom, as 'God's creative presence,' is just as
a religious a thought and activity as the supposition of "Being" or "The Life
Force" for "God." In the prologue of John's Gospel, the Logos is made
incarnate. In Stoic thought, logos was understood as the ordering principle of the
universe. There is no "God" or "Logos" or "Life Force" — that is a load of
medievalist claptrap and out of date 'cods [gods] wallop'.
Things happen [physical 'events] because the is no physical alternative.
When a certain type of entity is engaged in an encounter with a similar or
dissimilar entity what happens MUST happen. There is no "Life Force" involved"
there is just the physical imperative.
To claim that the lightening strikes the tree or the boy pursues the girl
because of some "Life Force" is utter rubbish. The electrical [material] force
strikes the tree because it 'needs' to go to ground — the boy pursues the girl
because he wants to go to ground with her, etc.
There is no such thing as nature — only that which exists and is natural.
There is no such thing exists as "Force" — there is only that which is
forceful.
Perhaps amongst Heideggerians, [ most of whom will believe in almost
anything] and no doubt amongst the dessicated blooms of the Flower-People, the idea
of a Church of the Life Force would catch on — but not anywhere else -
amongst rational people I think?
But who needs a church or religion of anything? All its intellectual
brain-death ever brings is destruction to millions? Only the intellectually lonely.
